DPP to get file today on death of Enniscorthy woman
28/03/2006 - 10:29:31Gardaí in Co Wexford are expected to forward a file to the DPP today on the death of Evelyn Joel in Enniscorthy earlier this year.
The 58-year-old MS and arthritis sufferer died at Wexford General Hospital a week after being admitted on New Year's Eve in a severely malnourished state.
She was taken to the hospital by an ambulance crew that was called to the house where she was living with her daughter's family.
The crew was said to be so shocked by the condition they found her in that they alerted gardaí to the case.
A number of people have been arrested and questioned in connection with the death and the Gardaí are now expected to send a large file on the matter to the DPP this afternoon.
