Property management firm to create 250-plus jobs

27/03/2006 - 13:51:32
Over 250 jobs are to be created in Dublin, Wicklow, Kilkenny, Galway and Mayo by a property management firm, it was confirmed today.

The new positions are part of a €350m investment by the Irish-owned PREM Group in the UK and Ireland during 2006.

PREM Group, which was established in 1996, said that the expansion will boost its portfolio of hotels, serviced apartments and offices by 50%.

Nearly 200 jobs will be created with the opening of four new Days Hotels in Dublin Airport, Park West (Dublin), Kilkenny and Castlebar.

The premises will operated by PREM Group on behalf of Days Hotels under license agreement with franchisor, Cendant International.

PREM is also building three new serviced apartment complexes under its Premier Apartments brand at Dublin Airport, Galway and Sandyford.

The firm currently operates and leases over 400 serviced apartments in Dublin, Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham and Newcastle.

Further jobs will be created at the PREM-managed Tulfarris Golf and Hotel Resort near Blessington, Co Wicklow, which is currently undergoing a €50m redevelopment.

A further 20 jobs will be created at PREM’s head offices in Dublin and Liverpool.

PREM managing director Jim Murphy said: “PREM Group is expanding at an unprecedented rate. When we first set up the company 10 years ago, we could not envisage how the company would develop and grow.

“We started off managing one hotel and now we are working with some of the biggest hotel brands in the world.”

The new Days Hotel at Dublin Airport in May will create 50 jobs.

A further 45 positions will be available when Days Hotel Kilkenny opens in July and 60 jobs will be created in August with the opening of Days Hotel Park West.

An additional 40 staff will be recruited when Days Hotel Castlebar opens in winter 2006.

PREM will also create 100 new jobs in the UK with two new hotel openings in Sheffield.

The first hotel recently opened under PREM Group’s Ramada brand and the second hotel will open late 2006/early 2007 at Leopold Square in the heart of Sheffield city centre.

PREM recently acquired 62 apartments in Hatton Garden Tower from Liverpool developer Downing at a cost of €15m in what was the largest property deal of its type in the city.
