ISEQ starts week in the black

The ISEQ index of Irish shares started the week in the black, edging up 4.74 points to 8049.29 points by 11.25am.

The financial sector enjoyed mixed fortunes this morning. Bank of Ireland made the biggest gains, rising 15c to €15.65 while AIB was the biggest loser, falling 13c to €19.68.

Elsewhere Anglo Irish Bank rose 4c to €13.50 and Irish Life and Permanent fell 5c to €19.75.

Oil stocks also had mixed fortunes with Dragon Oil rising 5c to €3.05 and Tullow Oil remaining unchanged at €5.05.
