Businesses concerned about reduction in Shannon flights
27/03/2006 - 14:06:51Companies in the west and mid-west of the country are concerned that they may lose out if the number of transatlantic flights through Shannon is reduced, according to the employers' body IBEC.
The organisation said fears were high that some companies in the region could decide to relocate elsewhere if transatlantic traffic declines.
The number of such flights passing through Shannon is expected to fall as a result of the Open Skies agreement between the EU and the US that is due to come into force in 2008.
