Poulter risks fine after outburst

25/03/2006 - 20:32:40
Ian Poulter risked being fined for a real show of temper in his third round of the Players Championship at Sawgrass today.

Seeing his hopes of playing in the Masters in two weeks’ time fading Poulter lashed out when he could move his ball only 14 yards in the rough on the 12th.

The British golfer took not just one angry swish with his club, but six.

He went on to take a double bogey six and at one under par was in a tie for 31st place.

He needs top three tomorrow to make it to Augusta.
