Garbutt and Orr take flight with eagles
24/03/2006 - 09:56:59England’s Ian Garbutt and Scotland’s Gary Orr made the most of the calm conditions on the second day of the Madeira Island Open.
The good weather was in stark contrast to yesterday when a swirling wind made life difficult for the players.
After starting at the 10th, Garbutt and Orr chalked up eagles at the par-five 11th.
Paul Lawrie, tucked in two shots behind overnight leader Jarmo Sandelin, began his round with a par four.
Sweden’s Fredrik Henge, alongside Lawrie on the first day, also started in regulation.
There were two withdrawals from the tournament, Michael Hoey and David Higgins.
