HSE to seek alternative means for out of hours GP service

24/03/2006 - 15:59:54
The Health Service Executive has scrapped a tender process to find an out-of-hours GP service for north Dublin.

A statement released by the HSE says none of the proposals submitted so far have been up to standard.

However, it insists that alternative arrangements will be made to secure an out-of-hours doctor service for the area in the coming months.

Over half the population of Ireland have access to out-of-hours GP service and the HSE had been advertising for suppliers of a similar service for north Dublin.

Out-of-hours medical care for people living in the area is due to be in place in the next few months, operating on evenings, weekends and on bank holidays.
