Yorke apologises to ticketless fans
24/03/2006 - 12:05:35Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has issued an apology to fans who were left ticketless for an upcoming tour when the band's official website crashed.
The Karma Police hitmakers are performing at a string of European venues in May, and had promised die-hard followers on their mailing list the chance to purchase tickets on their site on Wednesday.
However, the page crashed when it was inundated with requests, leaving hundreds of fans frustrated.
Yorke explains: "We were caught by surprise by the volume of traffic. Even though we should technically be able to handle it. The numbers were far beyond what we expected.
"So sorry about all the confusion. Sorry about the system meltdown."
Radiohead's tour kicks off in Copenhagen, Denmark on May 6.
