FAS workers agree to strike action over decentralisation scheme
22/03/2006 - 17:20:45Workers at FAS gave the green light for strike action this afternoon.
SIPTU announced a series of short work stoppages, commencing in two weeks time.
Staff are protesting over compulsory redeployment of workers to Birr, Co. Offaly under the government's decentralisation plan.
FAS insist no staff members are being forced to relocate, however SIPTU representatives maintain that prospective employees have already been asked to sign contracts agreeing to move to the midlands office.
