DUP slams Blair’s remarks about ‘Protestant bigots’
22/03/2006 - 08:18:15The DUP's Ian Paisley Jnr has accused the British Prime Minister of making a scurillous slur against Protestants in the North.
In a speech yesterday, Tony Blair said Muslims who committed acts of terrorism were no more true to their faith than "Protestant bigots" who murdered Catholics in Northern Ireland.
Mr Paisley has described the remarks as a disgraceful and provocative insult to the Protestant community.
He said Mr Blair was nothing more than a charlatan and a liar who could not even begin to understand the situation in the North.
