Dublin delighted by 'dream' goal
21/03/2006 - 10:44:34Veteran Celtic striker Dion Dublin thought another cup final appearance was beyond him but admitted scoring in the CIS Insurance Cup final victory over Dunfermline was a dream come true.
The 36-year-old former Manchester United and Aston Villa striker, who was signed from Leicester in the winter, came off the bench to score the final goal in a 3-0 victory.
He said: “To come on and get the third goal was the kind of thing you dream about.
“You think it’s not going to happen so this is a massive thing for me.
“I am 36 now and you think you are not going to play in a cup final again.
“But the gaffer (Gordon Strachan) had faith in me bringing me up here and he gave me the chance to score in the final.”
