Businesses urged to beware of international fraudsters
21/03/2006 - 13:40:26The Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association (ISME) has warned Irish companies to beware of an upsurge in activity by international fraudsters.
The association says businesses across the world are being increasingly targeted by criminals operating a range of scams.
ISME mentions one scam in particular in which companies receive invoices seeking payment for entry into an international directory.
The small print of these documents contain a contract signing up the company for several years at a cost of up to €800 per year.
