City's hopes dealt double blow
20/03/2006 - 19:33:51Manchester City’s hopes of reaching their first FA Cup semi-final in 25 years were dealt a double blow as Georgios Samaras and Trevor Sinclair were ruled out of tonight’s sixth round clash with West Ham.
Both men were sidelined with knee problems picked up in the weekend defeat to Wigan, which also claimed Claudio Reyna, who failed to recover from a shoulder injury
With Andy Cole and Antoine Sibierski also missing, Bradley Wright-Phillips was handed a starting berth, one of only four City players to keep their place after the Wigan setback.
Hammers boss Alan Pardew also made seven changes but most of his were through choice, as Shaka Hislop and Matthew Etherington were passed fit, although Anton Ferdinand was ruled out with a thigh injury.
