Two armed men raid Galway bank

Gardaí in Galway have launched an inquiry into a raid on the National Irish Bank in Eyre Square in Galway today.

Two men armed with knives entered the bank at twenty to eleven this morning and escaped with a small sum of cash.

They are both described as having Dublin accents and wearing white helmets, one with an orange stripe and one with a red stripe.

One of the men wore a black wet-suit and the other wore a black top with a white s tripe and carried a green bag.

The raiders made their escape on a motorbike in the direction of Oranmore.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the robbery or anyone with information to contact them.
