Thornton fine after Thyne fall

15/03/2006 - 09:51:33
Andrew Thornton has been given a clean bill of health to ride at Cheltenham today.

Thornton suffered a nasty-looking spill aboard A Glass In Thyne in the William Hill Trophy Handicap Chase yesterday and underwent a precautionary X-ray on his left arm.

It only revealed superficial bruising, however, with Thornton fit to partner The Listener in the Royal & SunAlliance Chase – as well as Sir Rembrandt in the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup on Friday.

He said: “I feared the worst when I went down but thankfully it’s only bruising below the elbow.

“It’s gone down a lot during the night and I’m A1 now.

“I’m also riding Legally Fast in the (Royal & SunAlliance) Novices’ Hurdle, as well as The Listener, so hopefully it should be a good day.”
