Tribunal lawyers challenge evidence given by Frank Dunlop
15/03/2006 - 13:00:54Lawyers acting for the Mahon Tribunal have challenged evidence provided by former political lobbyist Frank Dunlop.
Speaking at the tribunal today, Patricia Dillon, SC, highlighted a major flaw in Mr Dunlop's allegations about giving a payment to councillor Jack Larkin, who died in 1998.
Ms Dillon said Mr Larkin would have had to leave a hospital bed in Drogheda to attend a meeting in Dublin in 1992 at which Mr Dunlop claims to have given him the money.
She accused Mr Dunlop of making false claims against dead councillors who could not defend themselves and said this was undermining his evidence to the tribunal.
