Three arrested in garda crackdown on Limerick criminals
15/03/2006 - 14:02:54Gardaí in Limerick have arrested three men following the seizure of drugs and a firearm during a number of raids in the city and surrounding areas this morning.
More than 70 gardaí backed by armed officers and the garda helicopter were involved in searches at 15 locations.
Up to 10kgs of an unknown substance was seized during the operation along with a firearm and a quantity of ammunition.
A teenage boy and a man and woman in their 20s were all arrested during the raids, which gardaí said were mounted in response to a number of recent serious incidents in Limerick, including a gun attack on a garda patrol car.
