Whelan and Brogan recalled for Dublin

14/03/2006 - 22:39:01
Ciaran Whelan and Alan Brogan, who both impressed as substitutes last week, have been recalled to the Dublin starting line-up for Sunday’s NFL Division 1A trip to Brewster Park to face Fermanagh (throw-in 2.30pm).

Whelan and Brogan landed the final two points of the Dubs’ 1-10 to 1-11 defeat to Cork recently.

Denis Bastick, who was sent off for two bookable offences last week, makes way at midfield for Whelan, while Brogan replaces Shane Ryan in the half-forwards.

The talented full-forward line of David O’Callaghan, Conal Keaney and Tomas Quinn remains intact. The trio have hit 2-24 of Dublin’s 3-36 league tally to date. St. Vincent’s star Quinn has top-scored with 1-15.

Paul Caffrey’s third-placed side need to get back on the winning trail to keep in touch with leaders Kerry and Mayo - the Dubs’ opponents in the final two rounds on March 25 and April 9 respectively.

DUBLIN (NFL v Fermanagh) - S Cluxton; P Griffin, B Cahill, D Henry; P Casey, C Goggins, P Andrews; D Magee, C Whelan; D Lally, A Brogan, B Cullen; D O’Callaghan, C Keaney, T Quinn.
