Keightley appeal next month

14/03/2006 - 08:24:04
Shaun Keightley could have his appeal against a three-year warning off and a £3,500 (€5,100) fine heard on April 24.

The trainer was handed the punishments after an inquiry into the running and riding of Red Lancer at Wolverhampton in 2003, with Keightley also being told he could not apply for a licence for a further two years after his suspension expires.

The Jockey Club had pencilled in the preliminary appeal hearing for last Friday but that was cancelled on the agreement of both parties.

Keightley’s legal team and the Jockey Club are now both working towards the proposed date in April for the substantive hearing and have agreed any preliminary issues can probably be dealt with at the beginning of that hearing.
