Wyeth to lay off 250 workers in Newbridge
14/03/2006 - 13:38:12US pharmaceutical firm Wyeth has announced plans to lay off a quarter of its workforce in Newbridge, Co Kildare.
The company said the move to shed 250 jobs was part of a plan to safeguard its future.
Staff were informed of the lay-offs this morning.
Negotiations on a redundancy package for the affected employees are due to get underway immediately.
