13/03/2006 - 08:05:32
Music store HMV today rejected the latest multi-million pound takeover offer from private equity firm Permira.

The retailer, which owns the Waterstone’s book chain as well as its music shops, said the £842.7m (€1.2bn) bid from Permira undervalued the company.

The 210p a share offer was tabled after HMV rejected an earlier offer of 190p a share. Shares closed at 195.25p on Friday, valuing the company at £783.5m (€1.1bn).
