East Baghdad explosion sets fire to US tank

A large explosion in east Baghdad today set fire to a US tank, said Iraqi police Lt. Ali Abbas.

There was no immediate word on casualties.

AP Television News footage showed the stricken Abrams battle tank in flames, its tracks blown off. There was no sign of the vehicle’s occupants.

The US military had no immediate information on the incident.
