The story, well told, of how Burt Munro (Hopkins) set out in the late l960s to beat the Land Speed Record at Bonneville Salt Flats on his vamped-up l920 Indian Twin Scout motor-cycle. A task that wasn't easy since Munro had a heart problem and not much money.
The film is almost lyrical, certainly vastly enjoyable, more so since it is a great deal more than the mere telling of the basis story.
It's a film full of richly-observed characters and contains a fine central performance from Hopkins.
