Ang Lee has cataract problem

Ang Lee’s brother today said the recent best director Oscar winner has a slight cataract problem from overexerting his eyes while working on movies.

A cataract is a clouding of the lens in the eye that affects vision.

In Hong Kong Ang Lee’s younger brother, Lee Kang, said the problem was discovered during an eye check-up when the US-based director last returned to his native Taiwan.

Lee won the best director Oscar for the gay romance Brokeback Mountain earlier this week, becoming the first Asian to receive the prize.
