ISEQ in positive territory

The ISEQ index of Irish shares ended the week in positive territory, up 16.27 points to 7879.21 by the end of day's trading.

The financial sector enjoyed mostly good fortunes. Bank of Ireland made the most gains, rising 30c to €15.07. AIB rose 6c to €19.14 and Anglo Irish Bank rose 1c to €13.40.

Irish Life and Permanent slipped 6c to €18.30.

Pharmaceutical company Elan, who saw considerable gains yesterday plunged 55c to €12.45.

Elsewhere, Dragon Oil fell 4c to €3.18 and Tullow Oil fell 2c to €4.51.
