Man shot in street 'by drive-by attacker'

A man was shot in broad daylight on a west Belfast street today.

Police said the shooting happened shortly after 8am on the Whiterock Road.

The victim was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

It is understood the attack was a drive-by shooting.

Police appealed for witnesses to come forward.
