Le Guen set to be confirmed as Rangers boss - Numan
Artur Numan believes former club Rangers are on the verge of confirming Paul le Guen as their new manager.
The former Lyon coach is thought to have been lined up to replace Alex McLeish in the hot-seat.
And the Dutchman is convinced chairman David Murray will attempt to lift the gloom of their glorious Champions League exit to Villarreal by announcing the Frenchman’s appointment.
Numan said: “There has been a lot of speculation in the past few weeks.
“Before the game on Monday it came out that Le Guen had signed a two-year deal for the Ibrox side. But in the next couple of days David Murray will probably come out with a statement that Le Guen has signed.
“That will end the speculation. Now it’s important the team focus on the league and hopefully take second place and Le Guen is probably already looking for players for next year.
“I am almost 100% sure Le Guen will be coming to Ibrox.”
The former full-back also believes the players owe it to the outgoing manager and supporters to clinch second place in the Bank of Scotland Premier League and a place in the Champions League qualifying rounds for next season.
He told Sky Sports News: “Everybody will be positive about the performance last night but today they are back to reality and have to focus on the league.
“It’s going to be very difficult for them because Hearts are eight points ahead for that position.
“Rangers still need to focus on second place because they need it to get back into the Champions League.
“The players owe it to the supporters and they showed they are capable of getting a performance and result.”
Numan believes the Rangers players can hold their heads high after their valiant exit on away goals in Spain.
“It was the best performance from Rangers this season,” he added. “They controlled the game.”
