St Patrick's Day cards to boost hospice foundation
08/03/2006 - 18:00:44The Irish Hospice Foundation is to benefit from the sale of St Patrick’s Day cards and postcards from An Post.
The cards, which include postage to anywhere in the world, feature aspects of the life of Saint Patrick and 25c from each pack sold will go to the cause.
The last dates for post abroad is March 13 for Europe and March 10 for the rest of the world.
It’s estimated that over 400,000 St Patrick’s Day cards will be sent from Ireland to the rest of the world this year, with Britain, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand listed as the most popular destinations.
In recent years, greetings have also been posted to the Far East and Africa, including countries such as Chad, Benin and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
