Major new shopping complex planned for Cork

Developer Owen O'Callaghan is reportedly planning to construct a major new shopping and residential complex on the site of the Irish Examiner offices in Cork city centre.

Reports this morning said the nine-storey development would include 18 shops and 91 apartments, with big-name retailers expected to be vying for the limited number of outlets available.

Mr O'Callaghan is reportedly set to apply for planning permission for the €450m scheme later today.
