Al-Jazeera airs tape of three Christian Peacemakers
07/03/2006 - 09:38:21Al-Jazeera television today broadcast a brief and silent videotape showing three of four hostage Christian Peacemaker activists in Iraq, and said that the men asked their governments to work for their release.
It was not immediately clear which of the four hostages, who disappeared on November 26, was not in the video, which carried a February 28 date superimposed on the tape.
The previously unknown Swords of Righteousness Brigades had claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
The four activists kidnapped were Briton Norman Kember, 74; American Tom Fox, 54; and Canadians James Loney, 41, and Harmeet Singh Sooden, 32.
