ISEQ up 50 points
06/03/2006 - 17:59:23The ISEQ index started the week on a high today, gaining 50.05 to close at 7870.86.
Kingspan shares saw a 6c drop to €11.84 after the group announced a 40% hike in operating profits. It was a year of acquisition for the company, which now employs more than 4,600 people worldwide.
Fellow construction company McInerney saw its share price grow 19c to €12.89 while Grafton shares rose 14c to €10.30. CRH rose 30c to €27.55.
In the financial sector, AIB led the charge with a 19c jump to 19.14, while Bank of Ireland rose 2c to €15.10. Anglo Irish Bank continued the positive trend, up 3c to €13.58. Irish Life and Permanent reversed much of the gain in the sector, falling 32c to €17.98.
Meanwhile, pharmaceutical giant Elan was back in the black today with a 39c hike to €10.60.
