Tyrone unchanged for League resumption

03/03/2006 - 11:59:35
Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has kept the faith with his side for Sunday's must-win NFL Division 1A clash with Cork (Omagh, throw-in 2.30pm).

The starting XV that claimed a third successive Dr McKenna Cup for Tyrone last Sunday has been retained for the visit of the Rebels this weekend.

Both Tyrone and Cork, who fill the bottom two positions in the Division 1A table, are pointless after two league games.

In an unusual move, Harte has named 2005 All-Star corner back Ryan McMenamin at right half forward.

But the Dromore clubman is likely to revert back into his accustomed defensive role with Gavin Devlin being employed at centre back in his first start of the league.

Philip Jordan joins Devlin in making his 2006 league bow.

For former Under-21 Dermot Carlin, the game will mark his first league start since the 2004 campaign.

Tyrone's 2005 All-Ireland winning captain Brian Dooher is still recovering from an ankle injury, but is expected to be back before the end of the league's round-robin stages.

TYRONE (NFL vs Cork): P McConnell; D Carlin, C Gormley, E Bradley; D Harte, G Devlin, P Jordan; B Meenan, C Gourley; R McMenamin, B McGuigan, S Cavanagh; M Penrose, S O'Neill, M Murphy.
