Two gardaí escape injury in Limerick gun attack
03/03/2006 - 14:05:01Two gardaí have escaped injury after being shot at in the St Mary's Park area of Limerick in the early hours of this morning.
The uniformed officers were sitting in a patrol car at the scene of an earlier shooting on St Munchin's Street when they were targeted by a gunman who opened fire on them from a distance.
The man fired around five shots in their direction, but the patrol car was not hit and neither garda was injured.
The shooting happened at around 4.30am.
