Cage war flick one to watch
03/03/2006 - 19:37:08Andrew Niccol’s Lord of War (Momentum, 21.99) is a fast-paced action film which touches all the right bases, even throwing in a political message to boot.
Nicholas Cage plays international arms dealer Yuri Orlov whose career path meets no obstacles until a few troublesome pests arrive on the scene, including an Interpol cop who proves incorruptible (NathanEthan Hawke) and his junkie brother (Jared Leto).
As befits a major release, the DVD extras are what you’d expect — a fine director’s audio commentary, deleted scenes, interviews, a making of featurette, plus a good documentary on the international arms scene. Watch it.
