Man held in relation to woman's murder

A 49-year-old man was arrested today by gardaí investigating the murder of a woman in south Dublin.

The man was detained in the city this morning following the discovery of the woman’s body in a house at Knocknashee, Goatstown on Tuesday.

A garda spokesman said the woman’s body was removed to Dublin City Morgue where a post mortem exam was carried out by the State Pathologist, Doctor Marie Cassidy.

“The results are not being released for operational reasons,” he added.

The man is being held at Dundrum Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
