Wetherby abandons meet
01/03/2006 - 11:01:06Wetherby has abandoned this afternoon’s meeting due to frost.
Course officials initially inspected the track at 7.30am but they then called a further look for 10.30am to give the meeting every chance.
However, with conditions still not improving at the West Yorkshire venue, the meeting was abandoned before the scheduled inspection.
Wetherby’s chief executive James Sanderson said: “We have had to abandon. It has just not improved.
“The sun has been out but the frost is still in the ground as the wind has really brought the temperature down.”
