Taunton calls inspection

Officials at Taunton have called a 7.30am inspection due to the threat of overnight frost.

Tomorrow’s meeting is due to start at 2pm but clerk of the course Michael Trickey will have to check the track as temperatures are set to dip below freezing.

He said: “We could go as low as minus three according to the forecast. We went down to minus one and a half degrees last night but it is a bright morning and I think we would definitely be able to race today.

“I probably won’t be able to make a definite decision at 7.30am but at least I will be able to see where we are.”
