Dublin's Keaney to start against Offaly

01/03/2006 - 09:47:05
Conal Keaney will make his first start of the season for Dublin in Saturday night's all-ticket NFL Division 1A clash with Offaly (Parnell Park, throw-in 7.45pm).

The Ballyboden St Enda's forward has recovered from ankle surgery and comes in as one of six changes manager Paul Caffrey has made to the side that lost to Monaghan on February 12.

The suspensions gained by Ciaran Whelan, Kevin Bonner, Alan Brogan (all eight weeks) and Bryan Cullen (four weeks) in the win over Tyrone rule them out, while corner back Niall O'Shea (leg) is injured.

Paul Griffin returns from club duty with Kilmacud Crokes to take O'Shea's place, while his club mate Darren Magee deputises for Whelan at midfield.

Keaney joins Jason Sherlock and Declan Lally in a new half-forward line, with Shane Ryan coming in at full-forward, to be flanked by David O'Callaghan and Tomas Quinn.
