Wexford black-out caused by transformer blast
01/03/2006 - 09:42:53Hundreds of homes in Wexford were without electricity overnight following a power failure in the county.
The blackout, which was caused by an explosion at a local transformer yesterday afternoon, affected parts of Wexford town and some outlying districts.
The ESB managed to restore power to around the 1,000 affected households last night, while the remainder had their supplies reconnected this morning.
