Manufacturing sector sees growth slowdown in February

The Irish manufacturing sector recorded an improvement in business conditions for the 30th consecutive month in February.

The seasonally-adjusted NCB Purchasing Managers’ Index – an indicator designed to provide a single-figure measure of the economic health of the manufacturing industry – pointed to a moderate rate of expansion of the sector posting 52.4.

However, this was the lowest figure recorded since August 2005, the PMI having fallen in each of the past three months.
