Putin optimistic of deal with Iran
28/02/2006 - 19:32:04Russian President Vladimir Putin said today that he is very optimistic that Russia will manage to strike an agreement with Iran over its disputed nuclear programme.
Putin also said that no countries should be restricted from participating in nuclear energy within the framework of international law.
“We are very optimistic and our judgement is that we can come to an agreement with our negotiating partners,” he told reporters during a visit to Hungary.
