Leicester call late check
28/02/2006 - 07:42:11Leicester’s six-race card this afternoon hinges on the track passing an 8.30am inspection.
Officials did not anticipate any problems but temperatures dropped at 6am, forcing clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson to have a look.
“We were only forecast to go down to zero but it actually dropped to minus three at 6am,” he said. “There is very little frost and as long as we get rid of this we will be OK.
“We will have a look at 8.30am and we should have a good idea of where we are then.
“We had three millimetres of rain during the night. The cloud then shifted and the sky cleared, which has allowed the temperatures to drop.”
