Milosovic's request for medical treatment is rejected

The Yugoslav war crimes tribunal in The Hague, Netherlands, today rejected a request by former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic to go to Russia for medical treatment.

In a ruling, the court’s presiding judge said “it was more likely than not” Milosovic would not return to the Netherlands to complete his trial that is slowly nearing its end. It began more than five years ago.

Milosevic, who is defending himself against 66 counts for war crimes allegedly committed in Bosnia, Kosovo and Croatia in the 1990s, suffers from chronic heart problems and high blood pressure.
