This afternoon’s meeting at Wolverhampton is subject to a precautionary 8.00am inspection.

Although daytime temperatures are expected to rise between plus-two to plus-four degrees, heavy snow over the last 24 hours has put the eight-race card, which begins at 1.50pm, in jeopardy.

“We called a precautionary this morning not because of the frost but because of the snow.” explained clerk of the course Fergus Cameron.

“The temperature is set to rise this morning so that would help the snow clear from the track.”
