Webber keen on Green
Paul Webber is expecting a bold show from Kew Green in the betdirect.co.uk Winter Derby Trial at Lingfield tomorrow.
The eight-year-old will be having his first run since winning over the course and distance three months ago.
“We think he’s in excellent form and Dane O’Neill’s been to ride him two or three times in the last month or so,” the trainer told At The Races.
“Everybody in the team thinks he’s stronger and better than ever.
“I don’t think a lack of pace will be a problem. He can sit pretty handy and doesn’t have to come from too far back.
“He can sit second or third so hopefully it won’t be a problem but you don’t quite know round there.”
Kew Green is one of eight that will go to post for the race, with Crow Wood, Red Spell and Compton Bolter other notable runners.
