Spoofs of well-worn standards - horrors, westerns, musicals, spies - are difficult to pull off since they become, by their very nature, spoofs in themselves.
How, for instance, could you spoof a Carry On film?
Or, as here, a romantic comedy?
With the co-writers also doing the double as directors the danger of over-cooking has been truly realised.
This is a dismally unfunny and unromantic mish-mash of a film that fails utterly to gain our sympathy, enthusiasm and interest.
