Madonna 'devastated' by attack on book artist

22/02/2006 - 14:02:13
Pop queen Madonna is “devastated” that an illustrator who drew the pictures in one of her children’s books has been badly beaten up in New York.

Jeffrey Fulvimari, 43, has multiple skull fractures, including a broken eye socket, from the attack by three thugs outside a trendy nightclub.

It is the latest upset for the singer, who was recently treated for a hernia.

Her spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg told the New York Daily News: “She was very devastated at the news.

“It was shocking news.

“She’s very fond of Jeffrey … and she will be reaching out to be him.”

Fulvimari, who was attacked in the Chelsea area of Manhattan early on Sunday morning, worked on Madonna’s book The English Roses.
