Shearer check needed
21/02/2006 - 10:00:07Newcastle caretaker boss Glenn Roeder will make a late check on skipper Alan Shearer and midfielder Kieron Dyer ahead of tomorrow night’s Barclays Premiership clash with Charlton.
Shearer missed the 1-0 FA Cup fifth-round win over Southampton with a calf injury, while Dyer is recovering after making his first start since August in that game.
Full-back Celestine Babayaro completes a two-match ban while Michael Owen (foot), Stephen Carr (hernia) and Steven Taylor (shoulder) are still out.
