Dublin abuse inquiry to be wider than previously thought
21/02/2006 - 08:18:41The state inquiry into allegations of child sex abuse by clerics in the Dublin diocese is reportedly set to be wider than previously expected.
Reports this morning said a trawl of church files ahead of the planned inquiry had uncovered several new abuse complaints against priests who have already been identified as paedophiles.
The documentation will now be passed to the Commission of Investigation appointed by the Government to investigate how the church and state authorities deal with clerical child sex abuse in the Dublin archdiocese.
