ISEQ edges close to 7800
21/02/2006 - 11:13:49The ISEQ index of Irish shares edged closer to the 7800 barrier this morning, rising 9.42 points to 7796.35 by 11am.
All the financial heavyweights enjoyed good fortunes. Both Anglo Irish Bank and Irish Life and Permanent gained 10c to €13.10 and €17.95 respectively. Bank of Ireland rose 8c to €14.96 and AIB rose 3c to €19.61.
Pharmaceutical company Elan suffered one of the morning's heaviest losses, falling 29c to €11.85.
Oil stocks enjoyed mixed fortunes with Tullow Oil gaining 1c to €4.47 and Dragon Oil slipping 2c to €3.09.
